An audience is defined as 'people giving attention to something' but what a target audience is a particular group at which a product is aimed at. In the film industry, recognizing and appealing to your target audience is incredibly important as ultimately they will be the types of people watching your film. Recognizing your target audience early on in your pre-production is vital as it will determine the content of your film as your target audience need to be able to relate and engage with the film.
