Analysis of two film title sequences

My first title sequence I will be analyzing the opening sequence of Deadpool, it sets the scene as a hybrid of Comedy and Action, as it is showing a slow motion action film with the credits as 'Moody Teenager' and 'Directer: Overpaid Tool' giving it a sarcastic and ironic tone. Furthermore, it follows the conventions of a superhero film, by in the beginning, it was an array of comics, with then the distribution companies name - 'Marvel', famed for its superhero films and comics. The font's colour palette was read and white, integrating with the mise en scene of the hero's costume - which is red. The sound is non-diegetic, contributing to the humour factor as it does not match up with the scene presented.

The second title sequence I will be analyzing is the opening sequence of the film 'The Boxtrolls'. It is story-based, and puts the audience where they need to be in the scene where the film begins. What I like about the title sequence is the music (which is diegetic, singing about little boxes, which a soft relaxing tone perfect for children, as it is a children's films) and it's simplicity. The type adds to the overall tone, of squiggly childish writing and sets an expectation as it introduces a few of the characters. Furthermore, it blends in seamlessly with the film.
