Analysis of 3 title sequences; Drive

Camera

- First shot is an extreme wide shot of a city while the camera is slowly moving closer.

- Second shot is a close up shot of the protagonist within a car in the driving seat captured from a worms-eye view.

- Third shot is an over the shoulder shot showing the protagonist driving his car.

- Fourth shot is a medium close up shot of the side of the protagonists face.

- Fifth shot is a birds eye view of the car driving on the highway.

- Sixth shot is a wide shot of the car driving in a car park while the camera pans to follow the cars movement across the screen and then parking.

- Seventh shot is a mid back shot of the protagonist walking to an elevator with steady movement.

- The final shot is another mid shot of the protagonist walking into a room.

Editing

- There are up to eight shots on average lasting for about up to 1-6 seconds with the inclusion of a 'cut-away shot' to prolong a sequence. A transition of a overlapping shot is used to merge two shots together to signify the passage of time.

Sound

- The only sound in the title sequence is the score which is by 'Kavinsky- Night Call'.......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV_3Dpw-BRY.....The lyrics may signify some relation between the character and the story, possibly foreshadowing some key things later on in the movie.

Mise-en-scene

- The beginning of the title sequence is set in the urban part of Los Angeles which then switches to the suburban parts of LA. The protagonist is wearing a cream bomber jacket with slim jeans and leather boots. The main prop that is seen in the title sequence is a duffel bag which the protagonist is seen carrying around. The lighting throughout the title sequence is mostly dim to maybe set a certain mood or feeling to the audience.
