RESEARCH-ANALYSE 3 title sequences ( 1 )

Sequence 1

Camera- ( shot distance/ angles/ movement/ framing):

- Firstly, from the beginning of the title sequence the camera man is moving backwards showing more of the view such as the cars, roads.

- As we continue watching the title sequence around 22 seconds into the film there is a ' birds eye view' shot showing part of the city.

- There is a ' close up ' shot for the pills, this was done to show what kind of pill it is so in this case i understood that its ' LSD'.

- At the end of the title sequence they used a ' wide shot ' to show that the place looks like such as what type of housing it is, how the roads look.

Editing- ( cuts/ speed/ special effects/ transitions):

- Firstly, cutting on action is used to cut from one shot to another, for example; the man taking of his hat.

- Also, cutaway has been used a lot in this opening sequence, because it shows things precisely. such as; the blood dripping onto the floor.

- They blurred the window and made us concentrate on the rain to show how much it has rained and it creates a mood.

Mise-en-scene- ( location/setting/costume/make up/ lighting):

- Firstly, the first thing i already understand is that its set it in ' City' due to the birds eye view shot which shows many cars, buildings.

- I'm very impressed with the lighting used in this title sequence because they used it in majority situations such as; The petrol station to show that noone is at the petrol station. Also, '62p4' on top of the taxi, might mean something.

- As i continued watching the title sequence the location changes from city to streets maybe showing how isolated the street is.

Sound ( musical score, sound effects, wild sound, Foley sound):

- Firstly, as you click the play button they use a very good music to build tension even do the title sequence just started.

- When it showed the pills ' LSD' they added sound effects to show how bad LSD's are for you because the music they used made me understand that it was bad even if i didn't know what the pills were.

- ' Foley sound ' is used for the police car siren.
