Evaluation of remake

For our remake activity my group chose to remake the opening title sequence of gone girl. We chose this sequence because we thought it would be the most interesting to film and we had already gone into some detail about the title sequence is previous lessons.

Firstly we had to identify a shot list of the title sequence describing what was going on in each shot, and then drawing each shot out onto a story board. This was relatively easy until we came across some shots of lakes and other things which we couldn't film due to the area we were in and the time limit that we had. We overcame this challenge by leaving the shots we couldn't film out and focusing on the shots we could film, like the houses and the clock.
While filming we had to remake the same outfit used by Ben Afflecks, for example my peer who was playing the man in the opening sequence bought in some jogging bottoms to film in. We did this to try and make the remake as close to the original as possible. After filming we had to edit the footage that we had collected. Editing was a challenge because we were missing some shots due to the fact that we weren't in a suitable area. It was also a bit confusing because it was the first time that we had to add the titles of the film, but we finally got the hang of it and added as many title as we could in the time period that we had.

What we should address next time is the sound. In our remake we were able to take away any ambient sound but we couldn't add any sound effects due to timing.
